Why Fitness Matters More Than Ever

Stop guessing. Start knowing.

Large research studies have linked cardiorespiratory fitness with long-term health. Assessments on the VO₂Base platform measure fitness; they do not assess disease or health risk.

Yet most people have no idea where they actually stand, because cardiorespiratory fitness is rarely measured directly.

An assessment on the VO₂Base platform gives you a clear, objective picture of your physical performance today, comfortably, rapidly, and without the need for exhaustive physical stress. One assessment gives you a real starting point. A series of them shows you the direction you’re heading, which, over time, matters more than any single number.

What Is the Assessment?

It is a standardized functional performance assessment, delivered by independent providers using the VO₂Base assessment platform. It measures how efficiently your body performs, combining cardiorespiratory, body and functional measurements into one clear result. It gives you valuable insight into your current fitness level and a baseline for tracking future improvement.

What Is Measured

Cardiorespiratory Capacity

Captured using Seismofit® technology. A lightweight sensor rests on your chest while you relax, recording subtle cardiac micro-vibrations that are analyzed to estimate your cardiorespiratory fitness in under 3 minutes. No treadmill, no breathing mask, no maximal exercise test. Seismofit has been independently validated against gold-standard cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) across multiple published studies, with accuracy that can vary by age and fitness level.

Functional Strength & Movement

Isometric grip strength: one of the most widely used measures of functional strength, measured with a Jamar® Smart Hand Dynamometer. Sit-to-stand speed and single-leg balance are timed and recorded by your assessment provider. Coming soon: automated movement tracking.

Body Composition & Structural Profile

Going beyond simple scale weight using advanced InBody® 8-sensor segmental technology to measure skeletal muscle mass, body fat percentage, and visceral fat distribution with precision.

Why VO₂Base Is Different

Tri-pillar precision, cardiorespiratory, functional and body composition data cross-calibrated into one profile, not three disconnected numbers
Independently validated against gold-standard cardiopulmonary exercise testing across multiple published studies
Objective measurement, digital sensors reduce manual estimation
Effortless protocol, no sweat, no special clothing, no exhaustive stress test

Where It Happens

These assessments are not tied to a single clinic or gym. Independent local assessment providers, each operating under their own name, bring assessments directly to venues in your area on a rotating schedule, including gyms, wellness centers and community spaces, so there is likely a session near you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to exercise during the test?

No maximal or strenuous exercise is required. Your cardiorespiratory measurement is taken while resting comfortably, and functional measurements like grip strength involve brief, simple actions rather than exertion.

How long does the test take?

The measurement itself takes only a few minutes, with the full appointment lasting about 15 minutes.

Will I receive my results?

Yes. You'll get a printed report at your session and, if you wish, a password-locked copy by email. Your personal data is erased within 7 days.

Is the assessment suitable for non-athletes?

Yes. The assessment is suitable for a wide range of adults interested in understanding their fitness level.

How accurate is the assessment?

Seismofit® has been independently validated against cardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET), the same lab-based gold standard used in exercise physiology research, across multiple published studies. As with any fitness assessment method, individual accuracy can vary with factors like age and training background, which is why the technology continues to be validated across broader populations. Your result gives you a meaningful, science-backed reference point, and repeat assessments are where it becomes most powerful, showing you your own trend over time rather than a single number in isolation.

How often should I repeat it?

Fitness changes gradually, so re-testing every 8–12 weeks is a good way to see a meaningful trend, or whenever you complete a new training block or reach a health milestone. A single assessment is a snapshot; a series of them shows you the direction your fitness is heading, which is ultimately more useful than any one number.

Is Seismofit FDA approved?

In the United States, Seismofit is offered as a general wellness product under the FDA’s low risk device guidance. It is not an FDA cleared or approved diagnostic device, and your results are not a substitute for medical advice.
